With nearly two decades of writing, production, and performance under his belt, Allen Edgar Rogers adds his voice to the chorus of the American milieu as an offering to readers looking for a soft place to land. His diverse background and experiences fuel his vivid, relatable narratives which are known for weaving themes of family dynamics, social consciousness, and satire into his storytelling.
Rogers is the author of the beloved children’s picture book, Mabee and the Gravy, and its follow up, Mabee at the Market [Summer 2025]. His current work-in-progress is his debut novel, Brazoria, set in the fictionalized town of Lakeside near the Texas gulf coast. Rogers has written for and performed in numerous stage and screen productions, ranging from pure comedy to interpreted Shakespeare—which ultimately might be the same thing.
He is the youngest of three siblings, born and raised near Houston, TX. He has lived all around Texas, in Seattle, WA, and now resides in Richmond, VA with his family and rescue hound. Once, while living in Austin, TX, he attended an open call to be in the crowd for a game on the NBC television show, Friday Night Lights, but turned around and went home because the field where they were instructed to park was too muddy for his VW Jetta Wagon. It’s one of his great regrets.
